Visionary ideas, best cases and hands-on state of the art
The touchpoint 3D fab + print will be a meeting point for all drupa visitors wanting to learn in detail about 3D printing. This special show (hall 7a stand C41) will be all about 3D technologies for a wide range of application industries and their market potential. “The purpose of the touch-point 3D fab + print is to drive technical integration and to pave the way for new cooperative ventures in matters of branding and production,” says Sabine Geldermann, Director of drupa. “The touchpoint will bring together the traditional printing industry and visionaries in 3D printing, offering opportunities to explore the industrial potential of 3D printing and of additive manufacturing techniques.” Planning and on-site implementation will be handled by KCI Publishing (Netherlands).

Another important element at the touchpoint will be a programme of around 70 presentations. Insights into production processes and the application spectrum of 3D technologies will be offered by 3D pioneers AMR (Netherlands), Aviv3D (Israel) and Massivit (Israel). The market potential of 3D printing will be looked at by international market research institutes such as Gartner (US) and Smithers Pira (UK). A further thematic focus at the touchpoint will be the legal aspects of 3D scanning and printing. These will be highlighted by DWF (UK) and Cohausz & Florack (Düsseldorf). The programme will also include presentations by Arjo Wiggins, Blueprinter, Caldera, Canon and the IPP Printer Working Group. Each half-hour presentation will consist of brief talk (10-15 minutes), followed by a Q&A session. Participation is free for drupa visitors, and no registration is required. The detailed programme will be running on each day of the trade fair, except on 31 May and 10 June, and can be viewed via the following link: http://www.drupa.de/touchpoint_3D_fab_print.
KCI’s touchpoint ‘3D fab + print’ new to drupa 2016
Open daily during drupa’s business hours, KCI’s 3D fab + print touchpoint will form a meeting ground where thought leaders, industry professionals, exhibitors, and visitors working in both the 2D printing/ packaging production, and 3D printing industries can come together to discuss thought-provoking ideas and share technologies and knowledge. The objective of the touchpoint is to encourage new technological integrations, even leading to new brand and production collaborations and partnerships between these three important industries. The 2D printing and packaging production industries will be able to come along and examine not only their present potential for 3D printing, which may not as yet have been fully realized, but will also be able to look at what 3D printing has to offer their businesses both now and for the future.

“Just come along to one of our networking events and have some fun! Have a drink with us and make some new friends and business partners. You might also just be the lucky person who wins one of the Cubicon Style 3D printers that will be given away, or gets a free, scaled bust of yourself, printed by one of our partners,” says Leslie Wood Account Manager 3D fab+print.
The touchpoint will encompass a daily schedule of interactive presentation sessions. Each presentation will consist of a short lecture of 10-15 minutes and will be followed by a lively question and answer session with the audience.
