First batch of trainees already being trained in ‘Printed Electronics’ & ‘3D Printing’ at Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication.
AIFMP had signed an agreement with at Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication (BIGC) to provide print education in ‘3D printing’ and ‘Print electronics’ to Indian print professionals, students and teachers in printing. A batch of 7 trainees left for training in ‘Printed Electronics’ & ‘3D Printing’ at Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication (BIGC) on 20th May 2017.
The first batch of training is being conducted from May 22 to August 18, 2017. Mr Satish Malhotra, Former President, AIFMP; Mr Rajiv Gupta, President and Mr Rajesh Sardana, General Secretary, DPA extended their blessings to the first batch of trainees. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Rajiv Gupta said, “It is excellent opportunity provided by the AIFMP, and I wish more and more members and other printers of India may come forward to take the benefit from this opening.
“It is for the first time ever,” says Prof. Kamal Chopra, “that AIFMP has brought such an exclusive opportunity for the people-in-print in India. The future printing may evolve through value addition and mass production. Also ‘Printed Electronics’ may bring boom in packaging.”
“The total tuition fees for this 3 month training is approx. Rs. 1,00,000/-. No formal qualification is essential, however, experience at printing or packaging unit or basic knowledge of printing industry is essential. The course will be delivered in English,” he explained further.
The course studies include lecture, demonstrations and practical workshops on advance printing technologies relating to ‘3D Printing’ and ‘Printed Electronics’. Visit to a range of printing companies using these techniques will also be part of course curriculum. The next batch of the training is scheduled to commence in the month of September 2017 and registration is open for the second batch.
AIFMP President delivers key-note address during 49th IC
Prof. Kamal Chopra, President, AIFMP was invited to deliver the key-note address during the 49th International Circle of Educational Institutes for Graphic Arts Technology and Management (IC). It is for the first time ever that an Indian printer delivered key-note address during IC conference.
The 49th IC was held at Beijing, China on 14 and 15 May, 2017. IC is an international body representing 27 countries and is the apex body of Graphic Art institutions worldwide. The conference lasted 3 days, and was divided into 3 parts: keynote speech, panel discussions and visiting printing companies. More than 200 delegates, who were from Beijing Institutes of Graphic Communication and many other Chinese Universities, attended the conference. More than 60 domestic and abroad printing and packaging related institutes, universities and enterprises, participated in the conference.
In his address, Prof. Kamal Chopra spoke on packaging design. He said, “Packaging is an emerging science, an emerging engineering discipline, and a success contributor to most of the industries. Apart from the huge value addition and employment involved in these activities, packaging has served the world economy by helping preservation of the quality and lengthening the shelf life of innumerable products, besides domestic appliances and industrial machinery and other hardware needing transportation.”
He also highlighted India’s emergence as a printing and packaging hub.
President LUO Xue, in his address, appreciated the activities of AIFMP on industry institution linkage and said that name of AIFMP will be included as an institute in the database of IC. He also aspired for such type of cooperation in future also.
