The Department of Printing Technology & Graphic Arts of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad organised the National Conference on ‘New Trends in Printing Technology & Print Media’ on 18th March, 2016.
The Conference was inaugurated by Prof. Kamal Chopra, Vice-President, All India Federation of Master Printers and Prof. Chopade, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University.
The Convener of the Conference, Prof. Parag Hase, Head of Dept. of Printing Technology & Graphic Arts said, “The aim behind organizing Conference is to provide a common platform to the students and researchers in the field so that they can discuss the new trends and changes in printing technology and print media. Additionally, the printers too can share among themselves new technologies and their feasibilities in their business.”
Mr. Tushar Dhote, President, Mumbai Mudrak Sangh chaired the technical knowledge sharing session which comprised knowledge exchanges and panel discussion. Addressing the young students about to join the printing industry, he emphasised the need of technology adoption, “The printers have to update themselves with the changing times and the needs of the consumers. New technologies in image transferring systems are taking place in Printing. Electronics and Computerization have modernized every bit of our life. Printing cannot be exception for it. The Printers must adapt with the electronics and information technology tools.”
Mr. Jignesh Lapasiya along with Mr. Paresh Shah discussed textile printing and showed its multiple facets. Mr. Suresh Mahajan, Deputy General Manager, Lokmat Media gave presentation on Web Offset Printing and discussed how newspaper industry changed accordingly. On behalf of Monotech Systems, Mr. Virendra Rajput and his team delivered techno-speak-cum-demonstration to the audience about 3-D printing with live 3-D functionings. Ms. Sone presented on behalf of Department of Industries of Government of Maharashtra, the schemes for young entrepreneurs in printing and the ongoing printing clusters in the State of Maharashtra.
Mr. Ravindra Joshi, Treasurer, All India Federation of Master Printers was Chief Guest for the valedictory session. Participants from all across the country attended the Conference. The members of Printing Clusters in Maharashtra also attended the gathering in larger number.
