Puneet Agarwal – MD, DGM speaks about company’s plans, new India office, local sales and service team and demo centre etc.

DGM has spelled a successful presence in Indian market and had been looking for setting up DGM India operation for quite some time. The India registration will be completed in March 2019. In initial phase DGM is opening India office with local sales and service team and Demo centre with live demo of Die cutter, Hotfoil Stamping, folder gluer and Flute Laminator.
Puneet Agarwal has been appointed MD of DGM in the subcontinent. DGM already had 30 machines installed pan India. “DGM was looking for a correct way of its representation in India as globally it is a well renowned brand,” says Puneet. “From India we will handle India, Bangladesh, Srilanka and Nepal. Idea is to keep all spares in local stock for immediate support,” he adds.
Since Puneet’s joining and the company’s direct representation, DGM has scored 15 orders. Out of these, 10 orders are from PrintPack India 2019.
Thanking IPAMA for organising such a wonderful show, Puneet says, “I would like to congratulate IPAMA for every exhibitor and visitors looks satisfied and I can personally say that now we are shaping towards international exhibitions.”
“We had a good launch and success with 10 orders booked in hand during the show!” he declares.
DGM’s new operations being set up in Greater Noida will have sales and support team. “We will have live demo of all our products with local spares. In future we will sell in INR with local stock and soon will start assembly in India,” informs Puneet.
Printpack Technologies will be DGM’s exclusive service provider and provide service along with DGM direct service engineer. The demo centre will demonstrate Die-cutter, Hot Foil Stamping, Folder Gluer and Flute laminator. This will also help in customer job trial and operators training.
DGM offers compete folder gluer range from 650mm – 3200 mm size i.e. for Duplex, 3 ply and 5 ply cartons, Die-cutter and hot Foil stamping and Auto Flute laminator of speed ranging 80meters and 150 meters/min. “Soon we will launch new range in Die-cutters too,” says Puneet.
DGM is in process of hiring new team with every person handling specific responsibility.
Revealing further about their future targets, Puneet says, “This year we expect to start Indian operation with live demo centre and next year we shall start local assembly. In the next five years, we would be adding more products to local manufacturing.”
Speaking about market challenges, Puneet points towards challenging global compliances, “The biggest challenge I see in market is that now more and more global compliances are in-force to have uniform packaging by brand owners and for this our customers has to gear up with plant automation and adding capabilities to their product profile.”
Putting every esteemed customer on equal pedestal, Puneet mentions a selected few who have continuously showed confidence in DGM technology. “Every customer is key stake holders for us but the special ones are those who show confidence in us with repeat orders and recommendations to others. Few such customers include MK Print Pack, Orient Press, Sattik Packaging, York Print, Omega Print O Pack, Pragati Offset, Packmaax India and Miracle Print etc.,” says Puneet.
He plans to make DGM a one stop solutions provider in India. “We have already signed a partnership with Keshenglong China and SHINKO Japan who makes flexo printer slotter and flexo folder gluer both movable type and fixed structure type. They already have 10-12 machines running in India successfully sold in last 5-6 years. DGM India will not only sell and support the products range but we are also looking for right partners to be represented in India to provide one stop solution to Indian folding carton and corrugated packaging industry,” he concludes.
