On demo was their software range as well as IECHO Digital cutters. Tushar S Pande shares his Printpack experience.
Offering Packaging Pre-Press & Digital Cutting Machines for Folding Cartons, Corrugated & Signage markets since 2013, Emerging Graphics, joined hands with Hanway Industrial Inkjet Printers from China this year to promote Digital printers to print on corrugated. They offer EngView CAD software from Sofia, Bulgaria, PaSharp Graphic software & Superline anti-counterfeiting software from Beijing Founder Electronics Ltd. China, Retouch Xpress Photoshop based editor for Flexo, etc. There is dedicated team to offer pre-sales, sales & after sales services for the Pre-Press domain. The hardware side has IECHO Digital Cutting System which is represented since 2017 & currently has installation base of more than 80 machines.
In addition, partnership with Expert S.R.L. was also initiated to promote CI Flexo Presses from Italy, which received some quality enquiries. “XRD Nano from UK has tied up with us last year to promote UV casting solution for packaging anti-counterfeiting with their deep structures which are unique in nature,” informs Tushar S Pande, Director, Emerging Graphics.
Emerging Graphics participated at the recent Printpack India exhibition at Noida where it had an encouraging business experience. “The footfall at the show was encouraging as usual. Post Covid, there was energy visible & businesses were seen optimistic to get back in investment mode. We were able to convert our customers’ confidence in us with 7 orders for various products,” shares Tushar.
“Industry responded pretty well with their interest in taking business forward. The quality of visitors was also adequate. We had 99 Sqm area wherein we displayed 2 IECHO machines in action along with live demonstrations of our software products. We also displayed results UV casting solution from XRD Nano, UK that we promote now in India & Middle East,” he adds.
There were live demonstrations of Emerging Graphics solutions – on demo was their software range of products as well as IECHO Digital cutters. All demonstrated products attracted a lot of visitor interest.
“Our focus was to connect with market & share the capabilities that we can deliver to add value. We could do that to fair extent & are in touch with customers who showed interest to discover more about our offerings,” says Tushar.
While 7 orders were confirmed at the show, including the 2 display machines at Emerging Graphics booth, the company also concluded some software solutions with a few customers.
“There were around 350 visitors who reached us out of which around 60-70 were serious enquires & rest were visitors for general enquiries. The Print Pack show is considered important by the industry,” comments Tushar when asked about the quality of visitors. They also won a few overseas orders including those from Qatar and also a few positive enquiries from other countries.
Tushar confirmed business of about Rs.50 Lacs during the show and he looked satisfied with the outcome which neared their set target for the show.
“Industry is getting back to normal with considerable speed, though the economic crisis due to global issues still affects decision making and will impact it in times to come as well. However, considering domestic consumption of our economy, we are sure of keeping some pace in the economy consistently,” asserts Tushar.
He believes the venue may have been too far from the City for some visitors. “Visitors must be finding it painful to travel extra to attend expo. Besides, the May months are usually too hot and don’t make a convenient time for expo in this region,” he observes.
Digital is the key technology of this Printpack according to Tushar. “All eyes are on digital and also short run today. We are in the age of dynamic shift of technologies already!” he states.
Emerging Graphics offered free software licenses with their digital cutters, mainly CAD software that designs the key lines & ensures optimum output of cutters at the show.
While asked about industry’s expectations from the Government, Tushar is quite clear when he says, “Control on costs and incentives to bring in positive growth is need of the hour.”
Summing up his experience, Tushar says, “Such shows must be attended with open approach to witness new technologies and know how they can bring in innovation for the converters to secure their bottom lines. The show was organized well. There are some areas that need improvement like, numbering of booth seemed inadequate due to which visitors had challenges in finding booths. Utilities arrangements too have scope of improvements.”
