Flexo Image Graphics (FIG), distributor & service provider of flexo presses and associated equipment in the Indian sub-continent, in a press meet at New Delhi, outlined its growth plans to the press. The meet was attended by a host of the company’s principals. FIG is a sole India distributor of machines from renowned international brands like Mark Andy, Rhyguan, Rotoflex, Luster, Kluge, KDS Quantum, and Presstek.
Those attending the meet include: Mr. Manohar Dhugga, Director of Engineering and Service, Rotoflex; Mr. Phil Baldwin, European Sales Manager, Mark Andy; and Mr. Krisyanto Ekokurniawan, International Sales Manager, Luster LightTech Co.
“We have been catering various flexo presses and allied machines in India over the last 23 years. Headquartered in New Delhi, we have branches in Mumbai and Chennai, backed by our team of 42 well-trained & experienced technical &marketing professionals,” mentioned Mr.Gourav Roy, Managing Director, Flexo Image Graphics.
Mr. Krisyanto gave a keynote on Luster’s 100 percent false detection systems. Over the last 2–3 years, FIG has carried out several installations of Rotoflex and Mark Andy presses as main products. FIG boasts a clientele of 322 customers in India alone with some in the neighbouring Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
“Today, the flexo market is quite mature with full of opportunities and possibilities. So, FIG has been constantly developing and extending training processes to machine operators. In fact, we are planning to launch training courses, which will include hands-on training programmes and theoretical classes,” announced Mr. Roy.
Mr. Manohar emphasized the long association of over 30 years with Rotoflex, a brand known for high-speed slitting, rewinding & inspection machines, as well as advanced die-cutting systems. “I feel privileged to be a part of the company’s long and successful journey. We are proud of implementing full automation in our slitting rewinding machines with 6500 installations worldwide, including Southeast Asia,” informed Mr. Manohar.
Recalling his early days in the industry and experiences at Mark Andy, Mr.Phil, who joined the industry quite young at the age of 17, said, “So far, I have completed my 26 years in the industry and 11 years at Mark Andy. With accurate register control and other features, Mark Andy presses are designed for ease of use, without trained operators. Actually, we design our presses to help the converters increase the bottom line.”
Luster has been in India as one of the key principles of FIG. “It has been quite good for us to have a localised support for our customers,” mentioned Krisyanto, adding that they have introduced quite a number of machines with 100 percent inspection, specifically for the label and packaging sectors. For the label industry, Luster has several solutions like inline workflow, offline inspection, etc.
In his concluding note, Mr.Roy mentioned that industry people these days are looking for machines and technologies that improve the internal processes to help operators run the machines at ease and adoption of advanced solutions like Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) which many convertors in the client list of FIG are increasingly adopting. He conveyed, “Time has changed as the industry is on the pathway to revolutionary & ultramodern machines and technologies for printing, production, automation, finishing, and other processes, which we have all under our roof.”
