ALPS’ first World of Labeling successfully concludes in Mumbai.
Association of Label Printers and Suppliers (ALPS) successfully conducted the first edition of the World of Labeling (WoL) seminar at Mumbai on August 10, 2018. More than 100 delegates attended this seminar on Going Digital – When & How.
The seminar was inaugurated by Mr. Gururaj Ballarwad – President, Mr. Arunesh Bansal – Hon. General Secretary, Mr. Ashish Gupta – Hon. Treasurer and Mr. Ajay Aggarwal – Vice President, ALPS and Mr. Sudhir Samant – Proprietor, Sudhir Samant & Associates.
Mr. Ashish Gupta welcomed the august gathering followed by key note address by Mr. Gururaj Ballarwad.
The sponsors of the evening were Avery Dennison, Domino India, Vinsak India and Xeikon. The Seminar covered 5 sessions on theme topic of “Going Digital-When & How?”
Mr. Vikram Saxena, G.M-Sales, Xeikon division addressed the myths circling around the adoption of digital technology over conventional.
Mr. Ajay Rao Rane, AVP-Digital Printing Solutions, Domino India discussed about how to minimize the challenges faced by Digital Label Convertors.
Mr. Parag Agrawal, Product Manager-Specialty & Durables, Avery Dennison India shared his views on – What are the future trends in Digital Printing & drivers of its growth?
Mr. Ranesh Bajaj, Director, Vinsak India presented his perspective on – Why Digital Finishing plays a crucial role?
Mr. Ashish Gupta, MD, Rational Business Corporation attracted audience attention on – The Challenges being faced by Indian Label industry.
The key attraction of the evening was the panel discussion on “Challenges in adoption of Digital technology for Indian Label companies”.
The experts who took part in the discussion were Mr. Ajay Rao Rane-Domino India, Mr. Denver Annunication-Janus International, Mr. Ranesh Bajaj-Vinsak India, Mr. Tejas Tanna – Printmann Group and Mr. Vijay Pareek – Genius Flexo Machinery. The session was moderated by Mr. Ajay Aggarwal, Syndicate Labels.
The panel addressed the burning issues of Evolution of Digital printing as a technology over the last few years. The experts, who have been among the early adopters of the digital technology, shared their valuable experiences. The discussion also noted that the adoption of Digital in India is significantly lower than its adoption by printers in the western developed markets. They discussed in detail the adoption of Digital technology and the time it takes to reduce the cost of digital consumables in comparison to the conventional Flexo technology.
The programme was moderated by Ms. Priyanka Rathi Verma, Executive Secretary, and Head Marcom & P.R-ALPS. The programme concluded with Mr. Ashish Gupta and Mr. Gururaj Ballarwad felicitating the sponsors, speakers and panelists of the Seminar.
