Golden City Digital Offset Printers of Amritsar has a digital set-up that boasts three Konica Minolta digital printing machines.
Tajinder Singh has been using KM machines for almost a decade and a half while upgrading them gradually as they climbed the ladder slowly but steadily. The Amritsar, Punjab based Golden City Digital Offset Printers is a commercial as well as digital printer in the holy city of Amritsar. “This is the 3rd Konica Minolta machine that we have. The machines have been very reliable partners for us over these years. We have been chiefly doing wedding albums on our Konica Minolta’s,” Tajinder says.
According to Tajinder, the new KM machine gives him a quality equivalent to the best available in the market at a very reasonable cost and at a price which is affordable to his customers.
They produce 12×18 inch wedding albums on their AccurioPress C7090. The process starts by getting the pictures received into print ready file, getting it printed (front and back) in one go, laminating, collating them and creasing each page in order to help easy opening and then stapling it at the back with an attractive wedding album cover.
“We also do a lot of commercial print too as there are many walk-in customers who bring their digital files to get things printed,” adds Tajinder.
He started his career as a photographer in the initial days of career about four and a half decades back. Then Tajinder graduated on to owning a processing lab. There photographers would bring in films to get them developed into printed photos. “We used to have three ‘frontier’ and one ‘Epsilon’ machines then to cater to our customers. But then times changed and we too digitised our operations to remain viable in this competitive market,” he adds.
“We do about 3000 sheets per day making about 75000 sheets a month on our Konica Minolta machine and are very happy about the quality of its prints and also the overall service support received from KM. KM service is one reason why we have been with them all these years,” beams Tajinder.
Golden City Digital Offset Printers has most of its jobs coming from photographers in Jammu & Kashmir. “We have a design team at our premises which makes it an instant one-stop-shop gateway for our photographer clients to come with their digital pictures, for which we not only provide printing but also services like designing as well as final binding. They get a final finished product of the finest quality enabled by our sophisticated set-up. Since it is all under one roof, it happens within a short period of time,” concludes Tajinder.
