Harjinder Singh of Swastika Prinwell found drupa 2016 better than drupa 2012. “I found drupa 2016 more effective & impressive than 2012 event. This time similar technologies were put in the same hall that helped to view & better understand the technologies. It was useful in saving precious time for visitors and they could focus better on the technologies they require,” he shares.
He found Hybrid Offset Printing from all manufacturers as most impressive at drupa. He considers Benny Landa’s Nano technology quite interesting but is still waiting for its usefulness in longer runs. Laser Die-Cutting machine was another area of interest for Harjinder.
He has all praises for Heidelberg XL series Offset press, “It has crossed all limits of automations to the extent that it not only uses CTP profile to pre-set ink & water controls at the time of installing plates but also self registers the job. This would exclude the requirement of an extraordinary workmanship of highly trained operator to print high quality jobs.”
Harjinder liked the HP stall at drupa the most. He’s soon adding software related to auto job preparation for CtP, costing, preparing job ticket and stock details etc. to his set up. He made the most of his drupa visit and toured London. Apart from this, he looked a bit concerned about the next drupa participation. “Next drupa (in 2020) would be held in the last week of June. By that time, school vacations end and also it is usually peak rainy season at that time. Hope the organisers would have thought about this,” he concludes.
