Insight gets hold of 95% market share of HP Latex in India with Caldron’s Business acquisition.
Insight Print Communications has recently acquired Caldron’s sign and display division. Further solidifying Insight’s position, this acquisition is a major step in strengthening the sale and support of the HP Latex range of wide-format printers. Ajay Aggarwal, MD and CEO of Insight Print Communications, comments, “Insight is an exclusive partner for HP latex machine sales in West, East and South and after taking over the latex business from Caldron – Insight will hold almost 95% market share of HP Latex machines sales in India.”
Insight Print Communications and Caldron have been the premier channel partners of HP for the latex range of wide-format printing solutions over the past 15 years. Admired as a green printing solution, HP Latex boasts an impressive installation base of approximately 2,800 machines across India. Print Service Providers (PSPs) and Corporates highly value HP Latex for its well-recognized water-based eco-friendly ink technology, which also makes it a preferred choice in the wide-format industry.
Ajay expressed his enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, “This strategic decision will enable us to redirect our efforts toward enhancing the value we bring to our customers. Insight has been on a high growth trajectory since the pandemic, and we have plans to grow both organically as well as through inorganic means. Insight incorporated its vision to ‘help the print industry transition to digital’ after diluting our stake in the Komori range of analog offset press sales business.”
With the recent dilution of stake in Komori, Insight indicates its clear shift towards digital. “Insight, with its Vision Statement ‘Helping print industry transition to Digital’ is now focusing 100% on digital solutions only,” says Ajay. The immediate future plan is to assimilate all Caldron customers and start providing them the best possible service that Insight has been providing to its existing customer base, he adds. After taking over Caldron’s install base, Insight’s install base in North India gets almost doubled.
Sustainability is a key focus area at Insight. “Each and every product that Insight promotes are environment friendly. May it be the HP Latex which is the only water based green inks solution in sign and display segment, Kodak Sonora processes plates, Mimaki dyes – waterless textile printing, digital book printing solutions that require only ink and no additional raw materials etc. At Insight, we are driven by a strong vision of promoting sustainable and digital printing technology across India. Our unwavering commitment lies in helping Indian Print Service Providers (PSPs) reduce their environmental footprints,” elaborates Ajay. In line with this vision, Insight has also introduced an innovative digital book printing solution to its portfolio. “This groundbreaking addition is poised to revolutionize the landscape of book printing in India,” believes Adhish Aggarwal, discussing Insight’s vision and future expansion.
Caldron’s Latex business acquisition is a big encouragement to Insight’s offering end-to-end solutions under one roof. “We are always on a lookout for solutions that will help Printing industry move towards more efficient and sustainable printing,” avows Ajay.
Due to its water based green inks – Latex is best suited for indoor applications like wall papers, Window blinds, leatherette printing, canvas printing etc. HP Latex holds approx 35% market share in India with install base of upwards of 2,500 machines across the country. “It will be our endeavour to make corporates and brands realise the benefits of doing their campaigns on latex and help the environment,” points Ajay.
The recently introduced Vegapress digital book printing solution is a digital web press which, according to Ajay, “is going to revolutionise the book printing as it works with only one raw material and that is ink. Besides, it gives numerous advantages by way of, very low power consumption, reduced manpower needs, reduced space requirements and just in time printing of books without the need for storing books in warehouses. Also it saves tremendous amount of paper wastage compared to the conventional offset process.”
