Located in East Guangdong Province, China, Guangdong Kinde recently installed a DuPont Cyrel FAST thermal platemaking system. The system consists of a Cyrel FAST 1001 TD processor, a Cyrel FAST 1000 ECLF finishing unit, and Esko CDI 2530.
Founded in 2002, Kinde is a high technology enterprise with expertise in anti-counterfeiting label printing. The company serves some of the nation’s best known brands across many markets, including health and personal care, clothing, food, pharmaceutical OTC and alcohol. Such brands demand precise quality control in the printing process and superior results to set their brands apart in the marketplace. An additional challenge was the need for shorter lead times, as delivery of the final label is often required only a few days after the design is available.
To fulfill its customers’ increasing demands and expectations in regard to quality and lead times, Kinde invested in new state-of-art flexo technology. The company made the decision to purchase the DuPont Cyrel FAST thermal platemaking system after extensive research and testing of the available options in the flexographic market.
“You need to ensure the brand is represented in perfect printing quality on each package, in each batch,” said Mr.Huang, Kinde Production Manager. “Previously we struggled with quality control in letterpress printing. That’s why we made the decision to invest in the Gallus flexo printing press and the DuPont Cyrel FAST thermal platemaking system. It enables us to achieve consistent, superior print quality as well as high productivity and sustainability. ”
Mr. Huang continued, “We are able to get the plate ready on press in less than one hour with Cyrel FAST. It really improves our productivity and enables us to meet the lead time. We are now hearing that brand owners want to reduce the environmental footprint of their product life cycle. Cyrel FAST is the perfect solution to meet the customers‘ sustainability demands since it eliminates the need for conventional solvents and aqueous washout solutions in the platemaking process.”
“The FAST system installation was very well coordinated,” said Mr. Huang. “A DuPont Advanced Printing representative and engineer was on-site to help with the installation and provide guidance and technical training which reduced errors during the trial and helped us integrate smoothly.”
The new Cyrel FAST 1001 TD is a small format thermal platemaking system that has been redesigned and streamlined for improved dimensional stability and efficiency. The Cyrel FAST 1001 TD uses a unique thermal management system and multiple roller design to improve clean-out, provide more consistent relief depth and a more uniform floor, especially with thin gauge (.045”) plates often used for tag and label applications.
