Mr. Manish Gupta, Head – Product Life Cycle & Solution Consultancy Division, Konica Minolta Business Solutions India shares in detail their successful participation at the recent Labelexpo Europe 2025.
Konica Minolta Europe participated at Label Expo Europe 2025 in Barcelona, reinforcing its commitment to driving innovation in digital label printing. “The event proved to be a valuable platform to engage with converters, brand owners, and industry stakeholders, while showcasing our advancements in end-to-end label production solutions,” says Mr. Manish Gupta, Head – Product Life Cycle & Solution Consultancy Division, Konica Minolta Business Solutions India.
Konica Minolta presented a AL 231 prototype, which, informs Manish, was not a formal launch but an innovation preview of the solution at the show. Giving details, he says, “The prototype drew strong interest as it demonstrated extended life, the ability to handle jobs of approximately 1,600 linear meters in a single click, and IQ (Intelligent Quality) as an optional feature.” Alongside this, Konica Minolta displayed the AccurioLabel 230 (CMYK), which already has a presence of 35+ customers in India. Another key product displayed at the show was the AccurioLabel 400 (CMYK+White) which has been running successfully at 4 Indian customers since its 2023 launch. Visitors also experienced MGI’s JetVarnish 3DW 400 for digital foiling and UV embellishment and the MGI Octopus digital die-cutter.
The Hall 5, Stand G60/E61, where Konica Minolta showcased its solutions to the Labelexpo visitors, was a recreation of a full production workflow. The booth showcased the AccurioLabel 400, AccurioLabel 230, AL 231 prototype, MGI JetVarnish 3D Web 400, MGI Octopus, and GM finishing equipment. Live demos highlighted real-world use cases and seamless integration between pre-press, printing, embellishment, and finishing.
The AccurioLabel 400, being the featured product at Konica Minolta stand, was widely appreciated by visitors for its CMYK + White capability, short-run efficiency, and ability to deliver premium finishes for packaging and specialty labels. Many converters expressed particular interest in how it enables rapid market response, supports SKU proliferation, and provides an affordable entry into high-value markets.
Contrasting the models specifically suited to Indian market needs, Manish highlights, “For Indian converters, the AccurioLabel 230 and 400 continue to be ideal for short-run, customized applications like regional variants, limited editions, and seasonal packaging. We also emphasized our AccurioFlux workflow solutions to boost automation and efficiency. For global customers, we highlighted MGI’s embellishment systems, the JetVarnish 3D Web 400 and Octopus, both of which generated strong interest for premium packaging applications.”
Konica Minolta’s Labelexpo Europe 2025 participation revolved around the theme of “a complete production environment under one roof.” The showcase brought together print, embellishment, cutting, and finishing to demonstrate how Konica Minolta enables converters to balance speed, efficiency, and creativity with an integrated ecosystem.
Speaking further about his Label Expo Europe 2025 experience, Mr. says, “While our focus was on our own innovations, the show reaffirmed global momentum around automation, sustainability, and value-added applications. Across exhibitors, there was clear evidence of digital technologies reshaping the industry by making production more agile and environmentally responsible.”
“Our target was to deepen engagement with converters and brand owners while demonstrating the real-world capabilities of our integrated label solutions. Post-event, we aim to build on the strong interest generated by the AL 231 prototype and continue expanding our AccurioLabel installation base in Europe and India,” he continues.
“We met with a wide spectrum of visitors, including converters, packaging specialists, and brand managers. The audience largely consisted of decision-makers seeking digital-first solutions to meet demand for premium, sustainable, and short-run production. The quality of conversations reflected strong industry interest in both immediate adoption and long-term partnerships,” confirms Manish.
He observes the key changing trends in the label and related industry recently and the the latest challenges and opportunities arising therefrom. “The label industry is clearly shifting toward premiumization, sustainability, and short-run customization. E-commerce, FMCG, and niche brands are fueling demand, while challenges remain around supply chains, ROI, and compliance. This is creating opportunities for digital workflows and automation, areas where Konica Minolta’s ecosystem is particularly well positioned,” he asserts.
Label Expo Europe, according to Manish, continues to be the global stage for new launches and prototypes like our AL 231. Whereas, Label Expo India, he says, focuses more on regional adoption and application. “Europe shows where the future of digital label printing is heading, whereas India demonstrates how those technologies are applied in high-growth, cost-sensitive markets. Developed markets like Europe have focuses on automation and ease of using the machines to improve efficiency and productivity. Konica Minolta combination of Digital Label Press with Accurio Pro Flux solution provides them with options they are expecting for their future businesses to complement their existing infrastructure,” he assures.
He looked pretty pleased with the recent participation at Barcelona show. “Label Expo once again proved to be a well-organised and impactful global event. It not only allowed exhibitors to showcase products but also facilitated meaningful dialogue on where the industry is heading. For Konica Minolta, it was an excellent platform to reaffirm our role as a leader in sustainable, digital-first label solutions,” he declares.
“Label Expo Europe 2025 reinforced the central role of digital printing in the future of labels. With solutions like the AccurioLabel 400, AccurioLabel 230, the AL 231 prototype, and MGI’s embellishment and finishing systems, Konica Minolta demonstrated how converters can expand capabilities, reduce waste, and create value-added applications. Our message remains clear: digital is no longer an alternative, but a core driver of the label industry’s growth,” concludes Mr. Manish Gupta.
