Seiji Nakashima San shares the stories of KM-1e and Jetvarnish 3DS customers at Digital Print Asia 2025.
“Digital Printing” is the key to overcoming challenges like labour shortage, talent acquisition, pressures of environmental effects, rising overall costs, increasing profitability and challenges from competition.
“In India and Southeast Asia, Offset still leads — but Digital Printing is the key opportunity for business growth,” says Seiji Nakashima San, Corporate VP, GM of Professional Print Division of Konica Minolta at the recent Digital Print Asia 2025 conference that took place at Novatel Jaipur. Konica has machines for commercial printing, label printing, folding cartons and textile printing along with an array of software to overcome challenges faced by printers.
Sharing the success story of OSAKA Printing (Japan), Mr.Seiji informed that with the installation of KM-1e the company overcame the serious shortage of skilled people they required for offset. What surprised them was attaining image quality and productivity that overwhelmingly exceeded their expectations – 300,000 sheets per month (equivalent to six indigo presses). “OSAKA Printing had Zero quality complaints from their clients thanks to IN-LINE image detect Sensor on the machine,” reveals Seiji San. What’s more, their 2nd KM-1 was installed just 6 months after their first installation, obviously to cater to the increased orders!
Talking about embellishments & value-added printing success story of another customer, Solopress from Europe, he says, “Solopress offers digital varnishing and foiling along with tactile effects to create higher valued products. Enabled by Jetvarnish 3DS they not only offer high-end print products, but also offered them at a fairly lower cost.”
“Digital Embellishment turns low-volume jobs into high-margin business — enabling in-house production, faster delivery, and premium value creation attracting new customers,” adds Seiji San further speaking about the Jetvarnish 3DS capabilities.
Konica Minolta supports printing business leaders with end-to-end digital solutions that optimize operations, improve margins, and enable smart, promoting scalable growth.
