Katsuhisa “Kurt” Asari, MD Konica Minolta Business Solutions India Pvt Ltd., while talking to PRESSIdeas at Printpack informed that the company has introduced the AccurioPress C14010S which has CMYK + white feature and shall be released in August/September this year, though a prototype is already in. “The need for white ink as a base for certain applications is herewith solved,” Kurt San announced. With this launch, Konica Minolta has plugged another gap when it came to customer demands – that is white ink. “Though we could not display our Accurio Label 400 this time, Accurio Label 230 is at the show catering to the label industry and is attracting a lot of visitor traction with its inherent capabilities,” he added.
As usual their impressive stall at PrintPack not only catered to the needs of commercial, labels and packaging printers but also had options available for smaller print shops. “With the economy growing and the recent budget incentives by the government, India seems to be the right place to be in and we fortunately are positioned well to achieve the most,” added Manish Gupta, National Marketing Manager – PP & IP at Konica Minolta Business Solutions India.
Sustainability is a keyword for Konica Minolta the world over and it plants trees for each toner bottle that it receives; which interestingly can be tracked online. Konica Minolta has planted trees in several cities across India, including the NCR region and Kolkata as part of its PRAYAAS initiative.
When asked about the growth in sales of label printing series of machines under the Accurio brand, Manish said, “As of now it is only in single digit per annum but soon expect to cross into double digits.” As for embellishments, Konica has an MGI also available in roll format, though not yet installed in India. It may be noted that Konica Minolta has modules which can be attached to the present printing machines for postpress operations like folding, creasing and cutting.
“Analogue to digital is indeed the in-thing presently and I feel this is going to accelerate further in the coming couple of years. We have positioned ourselves to take the challenge head on by focussing on innovation and creativity which not only benefit our customers but their customers in turn too,” concluded Kurt San.
