“Despite a long line-up of machines on display, we ensured the stall had ample space for visitors to move around and have a good look at the machines, while discussing with our team of sales and service engineers,” says Aman Khindria, Director – Production, Memory Repro Systems, adding, “We also offered ample space for discussions across the table, which led to some finalizations as well. Our team duly answered the queries to our customers’ satisfaction.”
The newly launched Fully Automatic high speed Dry Lamination machine boasts a robust metal structure. It is capable of handling sheets of the sizes 1100mmx1100mm and can handle from 90 GSM to 450 GSM paper for lamination. “The machine has an inbuilt powder removal unit as well, in addition to the hot knife cutter suitable for PVC BOPP or Metallized films,” informs Aman.
Speaking about the Dry Lamination process and its advantages, Aman reveals, “Dry lamination is advantageous on the front that the lamination process uses cold film (PVC , BOPP or metalized) thereby saving on the cost incurred in comparison to directly using thermal lamination film. Due to its high speed of upto 100mtr/min, it is ideally recommended for book publishers, commercial and packaging printers to suffice their high volume production requirements and is available for sheetfed applications.”
Labour has been an inherent challenge in high speed lamination process for many years now, points Aman.
“Skilled Labour has been on the downtrend, and printers want high volume production. Though this can be done yet it is cost intensive as it requires more workforce, which is not an ideal situation always. This machine not only saves on extra labour cost but the quality is also very fine. Customers to get benefitted by having a smooth delivery flow,” explains Aman. The machine is equipped with an inbuilt roller heating system with a soft brush blade to remove the powder from the surface.
The machine was on live demo for all the 5 days of PrintPack 2025. “In fact we did a job work for a customer too for a couple of days. The demo went off well and we had enthusiastic visitors querying about the various parameters of the machine, every day,” beams Aman.
The result was many interested visitors with a lot of positive enquiries and a few orders as well. “We were able to bring home some laurels for our showcasing. We have a lot of enquiries and some leads for the sales team to act upon and convert them into orders. We are also carrying back enquiries and discussions for future business growth and new avenues,” shares Aman.
There are many features in the machine that place it above competitive products. In the words of Aman, “The salient features of large format flexible feeding direction covering most popular paper sizes, powder removal unit, hot knife cutting, flexible feeding and delivery changeovers for continuous production, and hydraulic loading for film roll are some of the features which should kill the competition. One feature missing which we will add in the future machines would be a delaminating unit.”
“Indian customer wants the best output with a minimum possible investment. Compromises with the quality are non-negotiable for him. This machine suits him on both fronts – the customer will get his ROI in a quick time,” assures Aman.
On sustainability front too, the machine scores high. Since it’s a ready to use machine, which can start work from the first few sheets, it can always help in reducing the print wastage. The in-built pumping and sensor system for the glue transfer from the drum to the tank and back ensures that there’s no overflowing of the glue from the tank, thereby reducing cleaning challenges on the shop floor. Reduced wastages also mean lesser amount of film wastage, which reduces waste footprint rising from plastic usage.
Quite impressed with his PrintPack participation and the organisation of the exhibition, Aman concludes, “The show was wonderfully organized and well planned. The only downside was that the number of people coming in was considerably less, given comparisons to the previous versions.”
