Micvac is exhibiting at the IFFA fair in Frankfurt for the second time. The exhibition runs from 7th to 12th May 2016. “Micvac has experienced some exciting years since the last IFFA in 2013,” states Håkan Pettersson, CEO of Micvac. “Not only Europe is continuing to develop satisfactorily, but Japan too has shown a big interest in our technology in recent years, and we have just announced that we have a new customer in South Korea, so we see great possibilities in this region.”
“Our first customer on the South American continent is establishing itself, and there are many interesting developments in the USA together with our partner Bemis,” Håkan Pettersson continues.
In 2015, Micvac hired a Country Manager France to put more effort into the promising French market. “We will do the same during this year in Germany,” says Christina Frohm Kramer, Marketing and Regional Sales Director. “We have been doing our own consumer research and the results in those two markets show that French and German consumers are ready for their first Micvac meals.”
Micvac has a close cooperation with KIN Lebensmittelinstitut in Neumünster, Germany. KIN has a Micvac pilot system and has conducted several studies to compare the costs of different thermal treatments, as well as the nutritional content in meals prepared with different techniques. The results show that the Micvac technique is superior in many ways.
The patented Micvac method can be divided into two main parts:
- The package – a special combination of materials and tray/film design, plus a particularly clever little valve, working together to enable in-pack cooking and pasteurisation. The valve even whistles when the meal is ready to eat!
- The food preparation line – where the trays are filled with fresh ingredients, cooked, pasteurised and chilled in one smooth, continuous process using the Micvac microwave tunnel.
“This will be a good opportunity for potential customers to taste the quality and see our new portfolio development,” says Christina Frohm Kramer. “We will show our new two-compartment tray, round trays, thermoformed products and more.”
Visitors may find out more about the fresh way to produce chilled ready meals at the Micvac stand at IFFA (E58 in Hall 9.1).
