Provin and Katsura together will announce the beginning of operations of “Katsura India” officially on the first day of PrintPack.

From the product point of view, Provin has been rather successful in introducing and bringing latest technologies to the Indian print industry in different segments such as sheet-fed offset, Narrow-web offset and digital, UV curing systems and inline colour control system, so far. “Recently we have added top of the line flexo range of presses from Spande along with sewing machine range from the inventor of thread sewing method, SMYTH,” informs Akshay.
Provin Technos represents Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Machinery Systems, Japan for a range of Heatset Web Presses, Ryobi MHI Graphic technology (RMGT), Japan for a range of Sheet-fed offset presses, Miyakoshi, Japan for narrow-web offset and digital presses in India, and Shanghai Spande Intelligent Equipment, China for their range of mid/narrow-web flexo and digital presses. They also have GEW, UK for a range of UV and LED-UV Curing Systems for sheet-fed offset presses; UV Energy, China for range of UV and LED-UV Curing Systems for all segments; LITHEC Gmbh, Germany for Inline and offline Colour management and control system & the latest addition of SMYTH, Italy for their range of thread swing binding machines.
“Provin group is growing at a regular pace over the years and we are happy to announce our entry in the new segment with the establishment of our new joint venture, Katsura India,” says Akshay. With the vision to bridge the gap in the printing industry for providing high-quality rubber rollers to the Indian market at pocket friendly price point, Katsura Roller India was formed as a joint venture company between Katsura Rollers Japan and Provin Technos. Katsura’s Roller manufacturing expertise of over 125+ years and Provin Techno’s Sales and service expertise is a core creation of this company.
Talking of 2024, Akshay informs that they had quite a good run – 2024 was a very promising year for them in terms of machine installations. “The number this year for us is 16 press installations which includes 11 RMGT presses, 3 Miyakoshi Inkjet presses and 2 Miyakoshi narrow web offset presses. The RMGT 9 series 8 colour perfector has also been very well received by the customers. We are extremely pleased to announce installation of 2 more brand new 8 colour perfector presses this year, with the total tally reaching 5 (most number of 8 colour perfector installations in India by any company thus far),” gleams Akshay.
With Miyakoshi, it was a milestone year for Provin, with installation of 3 high speed inkjet presses and 2 narrow web offset presses. “In the top of the line inkjet segment, Miyakoshi presses are the only presses in their category which have been installed in India,” chips in Akshay.
“Furthermore, with the incorporation of Katsura India, we are on track to go live by January end and start supplying quality rubber rollers to the India print industry. 2025 is most likely to follow the same trend for Provin as that of 2024. Though it is very difficult to predict the numbers in 2025, considering the prevalent global uncertainty while Indian economy is more or less stable, the factors affecting product price, currency fluctuation will have a noticeable impact,” continues Akshay. Other than this, they expect repeat performance in the coming year or maybe even better!
