Monotech had a good response at Pamex 2015. The focus of Monotech had been to take print to the next level, says T P Jain. The Scodix Ultra high-speed machine was the key Pamex highlight of Monotech. The machine targets packaging for longer-run jobs. The machine can also be used for embossing and in-line foiling. “The possibilities with this machine are impossible with any other manual process. You can create intricate designs, personalize and take the print to a new dimension,” claims T P Jain.
The Scodix Ultra Digital Press is the most productive in the series and enables commercial PSP’s and folding-cartons converters to produce tangible enhancements for a wide variety of applications; marketing literature, stationery items, book covers, boxes and premium packages, greeting cards, photo albums with VDP capabilities based on a barcode system, and more – the opportunities are endless.
The Scodix Ultra boasts exciting new features designed to answer the growing requirement for digital enhancement in longer runs, while retaining the highest quality, reliability and perfect registration. ,. With its ability to print on a wide variety of materials from paper to PVC or cartonboard up to 700 gsm, this modular digital solution will bring tangible benefits to a wide variety of applications including commercial print, packaging, displays, security marking and braille.
Brand new in the Scodix Ultra is the patent-pending Scodix Ultra™ Twin-Tray media handling system that conveys the sheets under the fixed array of inkheads in a single pass at a rate of over 1,250 B2 size sheets per hour. With two trays operating simultaneously, and with an independent motion system for each tray, the Scodix Ultra™ reaches the ultimate ratio of performance and efficiency, every time. “It is for high-end packaging customers, especially personalized packaging customers,” says Jain.
Another enhancement equipment by Monotech is the Highcon Euclid – the production speed digital cutting and creasing machine which transforms cutting and creasing from an analogue to a digital workflow, dramatically streamlining the finishing process. The machine combines the DART technology to create the digital crease lines with a unique high speed and high quality laser cutting solution. The result is the world’s first production speed digital cutting and creasing machine. The machine handles labels, paper, cartonboard, and microflute.
The Process Metallic Color System by Color Logic is another flagship product presented by Monotech. It is an affordable means of differentiating brands in the marketplace and produces marketing collateral without trial and error. Using only five inks – white plus CMYK or silver plus CMYK, it can churn out as much as 250 new metallic colours. It is a proven colour system for foil substrates, silver ink and other decorative media. Moreover, it doesn’t require any major capital expense – printers and converters can print Color-Logic on their current presses. Color-Logic is compatible with offset, inkjet, flexography, digital, screen and gravure printing processes. It is ideal for packaging, pouches, direct mail, POP, signage, post cards, literature, booklets, labels, shrink sleeves, calendars and many more.
Monotech has also tied up with Focus for their label printing solutions and also presented their range of 3D Printing technologies. “We have a diverse products and solutions range that extends across different segments of the industry and includes printing – 3D, offset, label, textile etc.; finishing – binding, cutting, folding etc. equipment for offset as well as digital; digital enhancement; wide format; and software etc.,” says Jain.
Monotech has big plans for years ahead. “We would be a formidable player in the industry in the coming times,” says Jain. “Our focus, apart from the offset, will be industrial printing including inkjet. Another key focus market will be label production,” he adds.
