The FAPGA is an apex body of print organisations in Asia and Pacific regions. As a prime association, it brings forth the latest trends, technologies and innovations to print and packaging businesses across its member countries while creating a platform for them to network.
“My agenda during my tenure would be to evolve Indian print & packaging companies with respect to newer spheres such as digital, artificial intelligence, exports, etc., on an Asia-Pacific platform,” says Mr. Mehta.
“As a President, I would like to introduce enhanced technologies, design common platforms for printers by erasing geographical boundaries– a trend that internet & digital media have already paced during the lockdown,” he emphasizes.
He emphasised on promoting knowledge & knowhow amongst the gen-next printers. Focusing on knowledge & networking seminars he stressed on the 3 week long students’ exchange program where participants would be stationed at various printing houses, visit on-going print expositions, etc.
His wish list goes on to include Interactive websites, conferences, and much more that touches up on and evolves printers, holistically. At the same time, efforts to curb foreseen paper shortages & supplies of print products (as warned by WPCF) and encouraging exports with FOB quotes viz. a viz. CIF owing to the weakening logistics sector with Ukaraine-Russia stand-off among others, would be at the core.
Reiterating Mr Peter Lane’s words in 19th FAPGA Forum in Philippines, Mr. Mehta underlines, “Cooperation and Collaborations are required to overcome challenges in the print business. My role would be to find ways and encourage cooperation that goes beyond geographical borders and make them connect at regular intervals for discussions. This would, in a way, be conducive for long-term collaborations amongst Asia Pacific Printers.”
“Friends, I welcome your suggestions and continued support in taking forth my ideas and concept at FAPGA. And look forward to serving our CMYK community in the best possible manner,” he concludes.
The FAPGA member countries are Australia; Bangladesh; Bhutan; Cambodia; China; India; Indonesia; Japan; Korea; Malaysia; New Zealand; Nepal; Philippines; Sri Lanka; Thailand and Vietnam.
