“Apart from our regular products, we are focusing here our new machine – Ecoline Newspaper press with a speed of 25000 cph,” says Sanjay Shah, Director, Manugraph Industries. He was speaking to PRESSIdeas during the recent WAN-IFRA. He tells that the height of the tower of this press is 2.7 meters. “The height being low, there is no need for a gallery and an operator can operate the press from the floor itself,” he reveals. Manugraph has already supplied five Ecoline to Punjab Kesari newspaper. Two have been installed and two are under installation. Manugraph is also coming up with a new press – the SLINE. This is a single width machine with the edit feature over CITILINE Express, and can print 40000 cph.
“The newspaper industry in India is very good. We have many installations for regional newspapers, especially in south India,” says Sanjay.
Speaking on GST, he says, “GST is beneficial for our business. It is much easier to do business now than before.”
However, he cites cost being both a threat as well as opportunity for the industry. “Cost is an important factor for the industry – producing low cost machines will be a big opportunity. Our design for low cost press is in the pipeline and we will inform the industry duly. Cost of production is a threat as well,” he says.
