Akshat Pardiwala, COO, Nippon Color speaks about the recent Labelexpo India experience and the advance label finisher that can laminate as well as slit to come as a comprehensive finishing solution.
For Nippon Color, the recent Labelexpo India 2024 participation was a great experience. Acknowledging the same, Mr. Akshat Pardiwala, COO, Nippon Color, comments, “The show was a tremendous success offering us an excellent platform to connect with our friends and customers while showcasing our products live.”
Nippon Color displayed their VD330 Digital Label Finisher, which garnered a fantastic response and drew significant attention to the company’s booth. “We successfully closed numerous deals during the show and established new strategic partnerships, further strengthening our market presence,” reveals Akshat Pardiwala.
The highlight of the show was the VD330, an advanced digital label finisher that eliminates the need for dies in label cutting. “Simply upload the outline file, and the machine begins cutting using its multiple blades,” informs Akshat.
“This innovation helps label converters save significant time and costs by removing the dependency on traditional dies. Additionally, the VD330 can laminate labels and slit them into smaller rolls, providing a comprehensive finishing solution,” he adds.
Equipped with four cutting heads, the finisher achieves speeds of up to 9 m/min and can handle labels up to 320 mm wide and 2000 mm long. Additionally, the integrated CCD camera enhances efficiency by reading job numbers or QR codes to automatically switch jobs and cutting shapes without requiring operator intervention.
Nippon Color successfully closed 4 deals and many positive enquiries. “All these customers operate digital label printing facilities. These deals are a significant milestone for us as they validate our core claim: a digital label finisher is essential for maximizing the benefits of digital label printing,” emphasises Mr. Akshat.
“The true advantage of digital printing shines when paired with digital finishing. With our solution, you can print labels in 1 hour, cut them in 2 hours, and deliver finished rolls to your customers on the same day—potentially even charging extra for this premium, value-added service,” he explains.
Nippon Color offered innovative solutions to its customers. It used the Labelexpo India 2024 platform to give a boost to its expansion into the flexo and labels market. “Having a strong presence in the offset industry, we were eager to expand into the flexo and labels market. Participating in Labelexpo and running a live machine demonstration proved to be a game-changer, allowing us to connect with a host of new customers we had not reached before. While we cherished visits from our old friends, it was the new connections and prospects we made that truly made the event remarkable. We returned with a wealth of exciting opportunities and look forward to building strong relationships with our new friends and partners,” happily claims Akshat.
Nippon Color prides in its team of highly trained engineers that provide support for its products. With support offices in Mumbai, Chennai, New Delhi, Bangalore, and Kolkata, the company provides exceptional after-sales service that sets it apart in the market. “For us, the first machine is sold by our sales team, but it’s our service that earns the second sale,” asserts Akshat.
Speaking about the plans for next year, he says, “We are excited to announce the upcoming launch of a new digital label finisher model featuring 8 cutting heads and speeds of up to 18 m/min, offering enhanced efficiency and performance. Additionally, we are on the verge of finalizing two deals for our CRON Flexo CTP and are actively promoting this product in the market to expand its reach.”
“With a diverse product portfolio, our goal is to be a trusted supplier capable of offering tailored solutions for every customer. For digital printers, we provide an advanced digital finisher; for flexo printers, we offer a high-performance plate-making solution. Additionally, for flexo printers seeking to expand into digital printing, we have the Screen UV inkjet digital label press—a perfect bridge to digital technology,” concludes Akshat.
