All-in-one solution for digital label finishing including 4 cutting heads, lamination, matrix removal, built-in sheeter, web guide system, and automatic job changing.
Nippon Color highlighted digital printing and finishing of labels at the virtual.drupa 2021. The all-in-one digital label finisher that includes unwinding, lamination, knife-cutting, matrix removal, slitting, trimming and rewinding or sheeting, was the key attraction by Nippon Color at the show. The latest offering from Valloy Incorporation, Korea, comes as a path breaking solution for label manufacturers to finish labels without waiting for dies.
The DuoBlade WX uses four cutting heads at a time to finish the labels. Using AI, DuoBlade WX is capable of selecting and changing jobs automatically on the fly without any operator intervention.
The Mumbai headquartered Nippon Color, a leading supplier to the Indian printing industry since 1972, offers a wide range of solutions from offset to flexo to digital, in terms of pre-press, printing, as well as post-press equipment. It has branch offices in New Delhi, Chennai, and Kolkata, with multiple engineers catering to after-sales at each location.
DuoBlade WX has an embedded computer – one can store a number of cutting files.
With Valloy’s Indian distributor Nippon Color having launched the DuoBlade WX digital label finisher in India, the Indian label manufacturers will now get an upgrade of the earlier SX model. The latest WX comes with four cutting heads, eliminating the need to make dies.
“As the market trend moves towards shorter runs and an increase in the number of SKUs, Indian converters can benefit from this digital label finisher where they do not need to wait for hours or even a day for the die to be ready for cutting,” says Akshat Pardiwala, COO of Nippon Color.
Capable of changing jobs in about 10 seconds, automatically and without any operator intervention, the DuoBlade WX enables faster delivery of finished products to customers. A single operator can easily cut intricate shapes for multiple jobs, especially urgent and short run jobs that come at short notice. It can cut shapes in size up to 350mm wide, roll-to-roll or roll-to-sheet.
Nippon partnered with Valloy in 2020 and has received a positive response for its digital label printing and finishing products.
Despite the slow pace of business during the pandemic, DuoBlade has been a popular choice with finishers and the company sees the sales to further pick up in the coming months as more and more converters realize the advantages of going digital in label finishing.
