Sonipat’s Officenow India runs KOMORI’s string of presses to print a versatile range of premium quality educational books.
A KOMORI aficionado, Sonipat-based Officenow India has been an exclusive KOMORI user when it comes to printing presses. A line of brand new Lithrone G Series presses from KOMORI have been churning out extensive premium quality educational books of all types and sizes, while playing a pivotal role in driving efficiency and productivity in Officenow’s book printing, ensuring quality and consistency.
Incepted in 2013, Officenow India has been a full-fledged book printer, catering educational books for schools, colleges, and academic institutes. “We are the first generation book printer. From one level to another, we keep scaling up production as well as quality in prints with constant upgrades of our infrastructure and machine portfolio. Our ambition is to be in the league of biggest and premier book printers in India,” informs Mr Puneet Chitkara, Founder-Director, Officenow India.
Mr Chitkara adds, “It has been more than a decade since we predominantly use only KOMORI presses in our production facility. Till date, we have owned seven KOMORI presses of different models and configurations. Of them, three are brand new and the rest pre-owned models. We never go away from KOMORI presses because of their capacities revolving around quality, speed and productivity as well as team KOMORI India’s dedicated after-sales support.”
The first brand new KOMORI press at Officenow India, a 4-colour Lithrone G37, was installed in 2022. After that the company kept on focusing only on brand new presses. Currently, three brand new KOMORI G Series presses at Officenow India’s production facility are aligning perfectly with the company’s vision to produce premium quality educational books.
Officenow India boasts fully equipped pre-press, press, and post-press units. “We manage everything of plate-making, printing, binding, finishing, and dispatching under one roof,” mentions Mr Chitkara, adding that the company’s pre-press and post-press units have Topaz thermal CtP, Aster sewing machines, Stahl folding machines, Electro Mac six clamps, Muller Martini flow line, Hi-Tech laminator, Rokin case maker, Megabond cast in machine, etc.
“However, arrival of any new press in our facility is turned out to be only KOMORI, a brand we have trusted for years. We have recently placed an order for a brand new 8-colour Lithrone G37 from KOMORI India, which will mark our eighth KOMORI till date,” tells Mr Chitkara, adding that the company’s portfolio of presses & printing machines is predominated by KOMORI, except a few including a Jinbao screen printing machine.
An alumnus of Pusa Institute of Technology, New Delhi, and a trained printing technologist, Mr Chitkara is optimistic about the future of educational book printing market. “Using the KOMORI presses, we currently engage in printing around 500 tonnes of papers per month. What we are targeting is to make it 700 tonnes soon with further investment in new presses,” he mentions.
According to Mr Chitkara, Officenow India’s team of 120 well-trained and experienced staff is set to indulge in round-the-clock operation of their production facility of 50,000sqft (constructed area) where the fleet of KOMORI presses are productively and efficiently running to print and produce soft and hardbound books.
“As of now, we are catering our books to the domestic market only. Our next-step plan is to engage in exports too. We have hired a new team for that. As our premise is now a bit congested, we are going to go for a green field expansion in future for producing more books for the offshore markets using more brand new KOMORI presses.”
