The four-day grand event catches industry enthusiasm with technology showcase, meeting platform, launches and new orders.
Pamex 2017 started off with the ceremonial ribbon cutting by Mr. Tushar Dhote, President, MMS; Mr. Mehul Desai, President, BMPA; Ms. Chang Xiaoxia, General Manager, CAPT (China Academy); Mr. S. India Packaging Show, India’s premier packaging event, was held from 18-21 December at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. The Show, running concurrently with Pamex, the International Printing Exhibition, recorded a total footfall of 25223 visitors.
Leading companies like AKR Machinery, Clearpack Automation (P) Ltd., Elegant International, Crown Industries, Control Print, G-Tech Packaging Solution, Markem-Image India (P) Ltd., J-Pack Engineers (P) Ltd., Mahisa Packaging Systems LLP, Toshniwal Instruments, VS International and Videojet Technologies presented innovative packaging technologies and solutions at the event.
Several companies like Clearpack Automation (P) Ltd. chose the platform to launch new machines. “We launched high-speed Shrink Wrapping Machine at the event and were happy with the response we received here. The quality of visitors was impressive. We also promoted our other automation products which focus on helping clients reduce labour cost,” said Vipul Luniya, Clearpack Automation.
“Talking about the industry demands, Pradeep Kumar Pandey, VS International said, “We presented continuous bag making machines at the exhibition. We believe that the demand of vertical form-fill-seal machine will rise in coming future and so our objective was to present the same technology at here.”
The visitors at the show were busy exploring the latest innovations and developments. “We were looking for the four colour printing machine and BoPP tapes. We found some very interesting products and negotiating with a company to buy their machine.”
Some of the visitors came to the show with a different objective. “Yes, we came to see and evaluate our future participation and are very impressed. You will find us in next edition,” said Poorwal Oak from Gandhi Automation Mumbai.
Shedding the months of gloom due to the problems related to adoption of the new tax regime, Pamex 2017 portends a bullish industry in the new year as the curtains came down on a successful event with unprecedented footfall of 25223 visitors and several deals being reported at the venue itself. The event was held from 18 to 21 December at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai.
Pamex 2017 spread across two halls, 1 and 5. Reports of onsite deals started appearing on the first day itself. Among the several deals closed, Zhongke India sold its ZK-5540OWL paper box making machine to Ma Prints Bengaluru. Mototech Systems sold Scodix Ultra Pro Digital Enhancement Press with Foil Station to United Multiclour Printers (P) Ltd. Autoprint Machinery Manufacturers booked an order for Blankmatic 108 2H, an offline stripping machine at Pamex 2017. EFI Vutek, announced the sale of EFI Vutek GS3250LX Pro wide-format kit. Pratham reported that it booked orders for six paper folding kit of varying configurations. New Delhi-based NBG Tech announced the sale of two machines from Hongming, its Chinese principal.
Several events were also happening on the sidelines where parallel meetings and conferences were scheduled. Elites from Indian print industry discussed the future prospects with the suppliers from China and Japan in closed door events. AIFMP, IPAMA, Capexil, LMAI and other bodies used the occasion to meet at the venue.
The exhibitors evening was organized at a glittering event where the prestigious National Awards for Excellence in Printing (NAEP) were given away. The winning entries were also displayed in a special gallery at the exhibition.
Exhibitors were occupied with the steady flow of visitors throughout the four days. “There has been an excellent footfall and we have been extremely busy throughout. We saw a lot of quality crowd and the customers who are here genuinely for business. We sold Scodix Ultra Pro which is in top of line for enhancement press and have got a lot leads for it. We are definitely participating in the next edition in a bigger manner than this year,” said Mr. Tej Prakash Jain, Managing Director of Monotech Systems Ltd.
Mr. Adam Ren from Real Star Machinery China said, “The result at Pamex is excellent, we have sold 5 machines already. It’s a great platform as it provides a good chance for the Indian printers to learn about our machines and even for us as we are exposed to Indian market.”
The visitors were enthralled with remarkable line up of displays and live demos. “Pamex was really helpful as I found the kind of pre-press solution I was looking for along with some interesting offers. The Show was highly informative,” said Mr. Devendra Rathore from Elim Enterprises.
Mr. S. Manoj from Elegant Printing Works, Bangalore says, “The main purpose to visit Pamex is to see the latest technology available in rigid box and UV printing and I’m very happy to find solutions for both.”
The event was lined up with meetings, conference & networking events. In addition press visit for China delegates & Japan Printing Machinery Association (JPMA) to Dhote Offset, PrintLine Reproductions and Jasmin Art Printers were organised.
Autoprint Machinery Manufacturers launched Blankmatic 108 2H, an offline stripping machine, at Pamex 2017. The company booked an order for the same on the 2nd day of the exhibition. Other hot deals at Pamex 2017 include:

– Memory Repro Systems (P) Ltd. sold three of its machines from the range of automatic thermal lamination machine and automatic plate cleaning machine, which they are displaying at the event.
– NBG Printographic Machinery Co. (P) Ltd. sold HM-ZD350A Automatic Rigid Box Line to Pragati Pack (I) (P) Ltd.
Kadam Digital Transcripts (P) Ltd. ordered HP Indigo 1200 press.
– Pratham Technologies sold four of its machines including Superfold folding machine to ID Printers Bangalore, Vaccum Feed Machine to Zisca Pharma Bangladesh, Friction Feed Machine to Maruti Pharma Nepal and Outsert System to Om Express Hyderabad.
– APL Machinery (P) Ltd. Smart Coater+ to Shree Ram Print Pack Baddi and Smart Coater to Noble Printing Press Mumbai.
Vijaya Grafiks sold its high speed Automatic Carton Folder Gluer to Laser Die Tech Delhi.
– Gayathri Machineries received several orders of its Honnor Exact Plus Multi-head Wire Stitching Machine and Citoborma 111 Paper Drilling Machines at Pamex 2017.
– Arrow Digital sold Vutek GS3250LXPro Flatbed Printer to Digi Graphics Mumbai.
– Sodhisons Mechnaical Works sold two of its Finishing Machines including SMW 1080 Double Head Automatic Striping Machine and KMM 1050 High Speed Automatic Multi Function Dry Laminating Machine.
– Indo Poly Machines Corporation sold Polymaster Machine at Pamex 2017.
– Five Star Printing Machinery sold a Multi-purpose Punching Machine and a Saddle Stitcher at Pamex Exhibition.
The next edition of Pamex is scheduled to be held from 6 to 9 January, 2020 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai.
