Bengaluru’s commercial printer starts digital voyage with a brand new imagePRESS V800.
Bengaluru-based Parishree Printers, a family-owned commercial printing company with a long root of traditional letterpress and offset printing business, has forayed into the realm of digital printing. The company kick-started its digital printing voyage with the adoption of a highly capable and efficient brand new Canon imagePRESS V800 digital production printing system that has been bought from Canon India.
Narrating the company’s lineage in the printing industry and new journey into the arena of commercial digital printing, Mr R Srinath, Proprietor of Parishree Printers, recalls, “My father started our letterpress printing business around 48 years ago and evolved into single-colour offset printing. Proud of being the second generation in the business, I’m now taking care of our new digital printing division, which we especially opened for short-run and print-on-demand (POD) jobs with the installation of the imagePRESS V800.”
He continues, “We chose the Canon digital production system over other brands because of its credibility in terms of versatility, speed, and quality print outputs. Nevertheless, this imagePRESS V800 is an ideal digital colour production system with features that tick every box of our requirement in digital printing. It has really enabled us to break into the arena of commercial digital printing, unlocking highly innovative print production.”
Designed for outsized performance in a compact footprint, imagePRESS V800 is capable to operate at the speed of 81ppm (pages per minute) supporting a vast array of media ranging from 52gsm up to 300gsm for applications like covers as well as envelopes, synthetics, and long sheets. Utilising the unique R-VCSEL imaging technology, imagePRESS V800 delivers graphic prints in resolution of 2400x2400dpi.
“Productivity and flexibility of the imagePRESS V800 are remarkable as it adds new value and quality to our short-run production of books, brochures, catalogues, magazines, notebooks, calendars, fliers, stickers, business cards, certificates, letterheads, invitation cards, among others,” tells Mr Srinath, adding that the Canon digital colour production printing system’s excellent registration, colour calibration, profiling, and other features help them obtain what exactly they want in POD production.
Beyond the traditional offset printing, which they carry out using a portfolio of capable machines like a four-colour KOMORI Lithrone 26 and others, Parishree Printers is now fully leveraging Canon’s technological competency, advancement, and expertise in their new digital journey. “Now looking forward for ways to unlock further growth and generate new revenue streams in digital short-run printing, we are taking full advantage of the imagePRESS V800, an ideal digital press, for which we are grateful to Canon India,” concludes Mr Srinath.
