“In this show we are highlighting the Desk 7 console, which we had launched in the last Drupa,” reveals Vijay Pandya, MD, QIPC-EAE India during the WAN-IFRA India Conference and Expo in Chennai.
The Desk 7 console is an innovative, ergonomically developed, nicely designed control console which is the central control for any press. This console enables entire press operation control from a single desk. “This is an extremely user-friendly equipment and makes the operator’s life quite simple during press operations,” says Vijay Pandya.
QIPC recently had a synergic tie-up with EAE. With this tie up QIPC-EAE will offer a complete package to newspaper houses to refurbish their old presses to extend their life and make them more efficient and operator friendly. “Given the present sluggish growth and stagnant situation in the newspaper industry, reviving and refurbishing existing presses can be highly beneficial for newspaper producers who can add 5 to 10 years to the life of their existing newspaper presses through QIPC-EAE upgrades,” adds Vijay.
Vijay perceives that the economic slowdown due to recent government regulations has subsided and the industry, particularly the vernacular newspapers are showing signs of growth. “Fresh investments are now happening in this segment and ideas for improvisation of the newspaper industry are taking place. I am very optimistic about the industry as of now,” he stresses.
“Though Digital and Internet are key threats to the newspaper industry, to have any effect of significance, next seven to ten years look smooth. Presently, the readers are also more inclined to the print media. Till such time the Print Media will find more opportunities and potential to grow,” he concludes.
