The Regional Institute of Printing Technology Alumni Association, Jadavpur, known as RIPTAA among the printing fraternity, celebrated its 31st Annual Summit and Annual General Meeting on August 15, 2016.
RIPTAA has been celebrating this annual programme either at Jadavpur University Campus or its alma mater RIPT since its inception. This year the venue got shifted to Swabhumi, The Heritage Plaza off E M By pass, Kolkata. The event was attended by over 500 members and around fifty delegates who came from different parts of the country.
Mr. Sanat Hazra, Technical and Production Director, Times of India delivered the key note address which was followed by a panel discussion on Transformation of “Print and Packaging heading towards Green and Digital”. The participants in this session were Mr. Alok Hazarika, Zonal Sales Manager, Konika Minolta India, Mr. Amitava Chakraborty, Sr. Sales Manage, Huber Group, Mr. Biswajit Bhattacharjee, General Manager (Marketing), Technova Imaging Systems, Mr. Kamal Chopra, Vice-President, AIFMP and Ms. Nandini Chowdhury, Chief Technical Manager, DIC.
Prof. Dr. Rajendra Kumar Anayath, Director at The Technological Institute of Textile & Sciences, Bhiwani was the moderator.
The audience and speakers agreed on the challenge of making the world pollution free. Today’s printing technology is gradually embracing green, environment friendly methods and practices. It is moving on fast track in top gear to explore newer horizons of accomplishment. These practices combine sustainability with the printing methodology using pulp based stock, eco-friendly chemicals and ink. Digital interface has taken over nearly to every segment of printing.

The new executive body was formed for the year 2016-18 during RIPTAA AGM. President, Mr. Surendra B. Dhote presided over the function.
