Expands Barcelona manufacturing capacity; expanded 850mm wide Universal Sleeve Press; prepares to launch a revamped Brava Platform in 2025.
It has been almost a year since VINSAK acquired Rotatek. The management at Rotatek continues to function as it was doing for the past few years. “The only major change,” says Ranesh Bajaj, “has been to support the existing management to grow the team and improve the Systems and processes at Rotatek with the infusion of capital and new software and processes.”
Vinsak and Rotatek have been into a long association which grew the synergies between the two organisations as very clear. What inspired the acquisition was Rotatek looking for a strong group to finance its growth. At the same time VINSAK was looking at expanding its manufacturing as well as having a global presence. “The Private equity that owned Rotatek was not able to offer continued financial support and that’s when VINSAK made a move,” discloses Ranesh.
Ranesh, while speaking on VINSAK now turning into a manufacturer from being a distributor, as far as Rotatek is concerned, says, “VINSAK is now better positioned to chart its growth as we are now a manufacturer of our Rotatek product line. “Rotatek is expanding its global presence, reaffirming its alliance with Rotatek Brasil to access the vital Brazilian market. New distribution agreements are being finalized weekly to ensure local service in every country. Manufacturing capacities are being ramped up to offer advanced technologies with shorter lead times as sales increase. This strategy is applied globally across VINSAK Group’s facilities, including manufacturing ink jet systems and label finishing equipment. Distribution partnerships with Lombardi, Iwasaki, Petrel, Schober and other partners remain strong and will continue to thrive.”
Rotatek Printing and Packaging Technologies SL (formerly known as Rotatek) will continue to operate and expand from its base in Barcelona. “Recently, we have expanded our manufacturing capacity in Barcelona with an additional 15,000 square feet of space. Dubai serves as the global headquarters for the group. “All Rotatek machines have been and will continue to be manufactured in Spain,” states Ranesh.
Operating in the security printing, flexible and carton packaging, and short-run labels markets, Rotatek’s current focus is on continuously introducing cutting-edge technologies to these markets. The company has recently introduced an expanded 850mm wide Universal Sleeve Press designed for Pharma Leaflets and cartons, which is expected to drive significant growth in the short term. “Additionally, we’re preparing to launch a revamped Brava Platform in 2025, representing the next major innovation our team is focused on,” Ranesh announces.
Speaking about the particular needs of Indian market, they have the RK 250 Plus and RK Perfect NT security printing machines. “These machines are crucial for the Indian market, with over 50 installations still in operation. Our strategy includes expanding the market for the Universal Sleeve Press in India in the near future,” says Ranesh.
The future key milestones for Ranesh in his journey with Rotatek would be, “doubling the annual number of installed machines and providing enhanced service to all existing customers.”
The technologically advanced Rotatek machines are feature rich and what make them, according to Ranesh, the ready choice for their customers is the fact that “every Rotatek press is fully customizable to efficiently produce the end product in a single pass, utilizing the most cost-effective production methods. We encourage converters to bring us their specific production challenges, as we can provide technically superior solutions tailored to their needs.”
Rotatek Universal and Brava are the key products that will be shown at major national and international shows in coming years. “Both the Labels and Packaging sectors are experiencing double-digit growth year after year. With a renewed emphasis on sustainability, we are committed to developing value-added solutions. These innovations will empower converters globally, fostering greater profitability not only in India but also across the world,” emphasises Ranesh.
VINSAK represents many international brands of repute for different products for different segments. “There is no overlap in our existing representations,” says Ranesh. “Lombardi, for instance, will remain dedicated to manufacturing and selling Flexo solutions, while Rotatek will exclusively offer Offset presses. Regarding intermittent offset presses, Iwasaki provides a maximum web width of 330mm, whereas Rotatek will introduce the Brava with a 450mm width only. Additionally, Rotatek is assisting in the sales of Iwasaki presses in Spain and will soon extend this support to Brazil. Our teams of principals are fully aligned with this acquisition and committed to supporting each other in driving business growth,” he elaborates and concludes with these motivated words for Indian businesses, “Indian entrepreneurs should maintain a global outlook to expand their presence worldwide. The business acumen homed in challenging Indian markets equips them well to successfully manage global organizations.”
