Launches multiple digital presses; installs over 100 units of Color C60/70 alone.
2015 has been a great year for the digital printing business of Xerox. The company launched multiple digital presses and all of them received a great response from customers and partners. Few of the products launched were the Xerox Color C60/70, Versant 2100, Versant 80 and Color Press 1000i; all boasting of individual unique features which attracted the customers. Over 100 units of C60/70 alone have been installed in 2015. This product has a newly developed, heat-efficient IH fuser which does not require preheating and helps reduce power consumption in standby mode by 44% compared to a resistance heating device. This device also consumes 1/6th of the total energy consumed by most of the digital press available in this segment. Besides offering cost efficiencies, it also has the widest range of applications in this market space, including running synthetics, vinyls, window clings, carbonless paper, never-tear paper, transfer papers, magnets and many other unique applications that are made possible with Xerox’s low melt toner & flexible paper path.
Another key launch, the Versant series has emerged as the best fit for the photo market in India. The newly introduced Versant 80 has registered a great success in FY15 with 24 installations done till September. The press provides production press capabilities with walk-up simplicity, offset-quality performance and automated features that remove the guesswork from optimizing image quality, color and registration. It offers 10-bit image quality at 2400 x 2400 dpi and can handle a variety of media types with a compact Belt Fuser system and Xerox’s EA Low Melt Dry Ink which is a great use for photo-printing. “We also very recently launched banner printing capabilities in both Versant 2100 and Versant 80. This particularly excited a lot of our customers and partners and we hope this will further add to the sales of these products,” says Balaji Rajagopalan.
Offered in true Pantone® metallic gold or silver specialty dry inks, the Color 1000i Press gives print companies a creative, competitive advantage. Multi-pass printing with clear ink adds an extra textural/dimensional feel and the “pop” of the silver and gold inks.
