Vineet Gehani, Xerox India discusses Xerox plans and star product showcase at PrintPack.
Mr. Vineet Gehani, Technology & Channels Director, Xerox India, was present at the recent PrintPack India show, where we met him and discussed Xerox’s plans for the year and the near future in the country.
“I have basically been in the office and commercial print segment in my previous job and now I have added the production printers in my arsenal with Xerox,” says Vineet. He considers the new responsibility both challenging as well as very satisfying professionally especially while handling the great products – Iridesse and Versant models. According to him it is a natural progression for him to represent Xerox with its complete range of machines from the monochrome to the entry level colour to the mid and then to the high end, which were all on display at the Xerox’s PrintPack stall. Speaking about digital printing, he says, “It is the right time for the industry to reap digital growth. The industry is transforming into a new digital paradigm and Xerox intends to be on the forefront of this growth path and further strengthen its market position in digital printing.” He also expressed his satisfaction with the implementation of GST in terms of workability sans location.
“Iridesse is the engine which will transform the digital landscape with a giant leap from the CMYK colourscape to special colours like white, Gold, Silver and Clear colours in one pass which is a game changer for the industry,” he declares.
He empahsises that all these colors run in one pass and that too without compromising the speed and quality thus providing a plus for the printer who owns an Iridesse Production Press.
The all new Iredesse press delivers digital specialty enhancements with up to six inline dry ink stations for optional White, Clear, Silver and Gold Specialty Dry Inks. “Today, on the iredesse, we can fire 6 colours in one go in a single pass and creates metallic effects that at one point of time were possible only by printing on metallic paper,” explains Vineet.
With a full Width Array and Automated Color Quality Suite for faster production along with additional high capacity feeders for up to 8 media pick points and inline finishing solutions to fit operation and workflow needs, Iridesse is the answers to many a troubles that a digital printer today faces. The machine is capable of running up to 120 pages per minute on substrates ranging from 52-400 gsm and can produce upto 475 thousand pages/month. It can be an excellent addition for a printers – even commercial printers who intend to add applications like wedding albums etc.
While recently Xerox has faced a downslide in domestic as well as international market, Vineet is confident that the rich legacy of Xerox together with its wide range of products would turn the tides more favourable. “The legendary leadership of Xerox, the extremely amazing brand value it possesses, and above all, the ultimate commitment to service our clients, most of whom have been with us for long, along with the technological breakthroughs the Xerox technical teams are capable of, we shall soon be reaching new heights,” avows Vineet.
